At Nationwide Concrete Pumping we are committed to the safety of our employees, subcontractors, clients, visitors and the communities we operate in. In all of our operations we take our responsibility for the wellbeing of the environment very seriously.

Nationwide Concrete Pumping systems are designed to ensure the protection of the environment and the highest possible safety standards for all of our operations. These practices are an integral part of our culture.

Nationwide Concrete Pumping has a strong safety record and this remains the priority of our business. We will continue to focus on all safety aspects of our projects and maintain our commitment to zero harm. We have quality assurance, environment and WH&S Management Systems in place which conform to:

  • ASNZS4801:2001 – OH&S Management System

The NWCP business management system enables Nationwide Concrete Pumping to take a proactive approach in identifying, assessing and controlling all hazards and risks encountered in the workplace. This approach assists us in eliminating preventable workplace injuries and illness, whilst maintaining productivity and efficiency.

Parts of the Nationwide Concrete Pumping WHSMS include (but are not limited to):

  • WH&S inductions- site, visitor and general
  • The provision for ongoing training
  • Establishment of objectives, targets and role responsibilities/ accountabilities.
  • Hazard identification and risk management mechanisms.
  • Incident reporting, investigation and control mechanisms including review of corrective actions.
  • Injury management
  • Emergency response plan
  • Plant, equipment and hazardous substance control procedures and systems
  • Inspections, audits and reviews

Cultural change through communication

We believe communication is critical to creating the conditions for achieving the highest level of Safety. It’s important that everyone understands our approach to health and safety - and feels empowered to play their part. For this reason, we have introduced ‘one-to-one safety commitment interviews’ for all new starters,  One of the key aims of this exercise is to encourage a culture of care and mutual respect by strengthening relationships between management and the workforce.

Raising awareness

We all have a part to play in keeping our workplaces safe. One of the most effective ways we can do this is by being aware of the risks around us and taking action to address these. That’s why we actively encourage all our people to regularly assess their working environments and report any identified risks - as they arise.

Enhancing wellbeing

A key priority of our Mission is the prevention of work-related illness. While there is clear evidence that employment can have a positive effect on personal wellbeing, poor health in the workplace can present significant safety risks.

We offer a range of services to help enhance the health of our employees. These include annual and pre-employment medicals for all employees as well as targeted education campaigns aimed at tackling lifestyle-related issues such as Drug and Alcohol awareness and depression and suicide prevention. We actively promote Mates in Construction and aim to provide connectors in the workplace.
